Usually 4 creams and 2 sugar or a latte with 2 raw sugar, if you are in a fancy sort of mood.
I am a multi-racial woman, married, mother of two who thinks that what I have to say is interesting enough for others to read. I am a devout Roman Catholic and I guess I would be best described as “neo-traditionalist.” I wear a Chapel Veil at Mass, I have a serious devotion to St. Mary (because she is such a role model for women and mothers,) and I think that St. Mary Magdalene can teach us all a thing or two, when I need to chillax there is nothing better than some old skool Gregorian Chant. I don’t believe that the Catholic Church (or society for that matter) is patriarchal, but I do believe that the Church is hierarchal (I believe that if you allow society to be patriarchal then it will be.) I take my Sacraments very seriously, especially the Sacrament of Marriage, the Sacrament of Reconciliation, and the Eucharist. I am not a huge fan of governmental intervention in the lives of it’s citizens, but I am a staunch pro-life feminist and I would rather take care of a mom than have her believe that there is no way for her to raise her child and abort him. When I am not listening to chant, I enjoy NPR, Audrey Assad, Matt Maher, Casting Crowns, The Police, David Bowie and Michael Buble, plus (and I’ll admit) The Imagination Movers. I hate to say but my iPhone, Nook and iPad have become extensions of self, and I can admit it.
Before I was mom, I was a high school science teacher and education is a passion of mine. The Mister and I pretty much practice attachment parenting and both of my girls were extended breastfeeders (DD1 until 30 mos, DD2 until 26 mos) I am active in La Leche League but my views are NOT REFLECTIVE of La Leche League International. I am an avid knitter, crocheter, machine stitcher and I’ve started making glorious feather fascinators. I hold Bachelors and Masters degrees from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and I currently reside in Pasadena with my husband and two daughters… and a mini-van. Oy.
How do I do it all?
